SDRS is a constituent of the Movement for Reform Judaism (MRJ). Shabbat morning services are held weekly at 10.30 am and Shabbat evening services on alternate weekends at 7.30 pm. (See calendar for dates.)
Men, women and children sit together with women playing an equal part with men in all aspects of the services. Men are required to have their heads covered by wearing a Kippot and, when applicable, wear a Tallit, women may chose to do so. Boys and girls celebrate their Bar or Bat Mitzvah at the age of twelve / thirteen, during the Shabbat morning service. All services are followed by a Kiddush in the synagogue hall. A special Kiddush may be held for members celebrating a special birthday or anniversary.
